Dixon wins Indianapolis 500

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Scott Dixon captured the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500. The No.9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing driver took the checkered flag 1.7498 seconds ahead of Vitor Meira.

It was the Auckland, New Zealand native's first Indianapolis 500 victory. It was the second win for owner Chip Ganassi.

Marco Andretti, Helio Castroneves and Ed Carpenter completed the top-five.
