Kanaan leads Indy 500 at halfway point


Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Andretti Green Racing driver Tony Kanaan is leading the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500 after 100 of 200 laps. The No.11 AGR Dallara Honda holds a 0.916-second margin on pole winner Scott Dixon.

Dan Wheldon, Marco Andretti and Tomas Scheckter make up the top-five after the first 250 miles. Dixon has led the most laps so far - 53.

The leader at the halfway point has won just three of the last 20 races at Indy. The last driver to lead at the mid-point and go on to win the race was Juan Pablo Montoya in 2000.

Currently out of the race are: Graham Rahal (crash), Marty Roth (crash) Jaime Camara (crash).
