Nationwide Series qualifying rained out

Bristol, TN (Sports Network) - Qualifying for Saturday afternoon's Sharpie Mini 300 Nationwide Series race was cancelled and the starting grid has been set by 2007 owner points.

With rain wiping out Nationwide practice and Sprint Cup qualifying and more rain in the forecast for Saturday, NASCAR officials cancelled both Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series qualifying session.

They hope to get some practice in before Saturday afternoon's 300-lap event.

Scott Wimmer and the No.29 Richard Childress Racing team will start on the pole when the race gets underway. It is scheduled to drop the green flag on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. (et), weather permitting.
