Nationwide Series qualifying snowed out

Hampton, GA (Sports Network) - Qualifying for Saturday afternoon's Nicorette 300 Nationwide Series race was cancelled by snow in the Atlanta, GA area.

Temperatures near freezing and light snow flurries forced NASCAR officials to fill out the starting grid by rule book. Since only 43 drivers were on the entry list, all drivers will run in the race.

Jeff Burton and the No.29 Richard Childress Racing team will start on the pole when the race gets underway. It is scheduled to drop the green flag on Saturday at 2 p.m. (et).

NASCAR officials still hope to get in a Sprint Cup practice before the afternoon race begins.
