A's Crosby placed on disabled listChicago, IL (Sports Network) - Oakland Athletics shortstop Bobby Crosby was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a strained left hamstring. The move is retroactive to July 3. Crosby did not miss a game this season before the injury, setting a personal consecutive games played streak at 84. The 28-year-old has posted a .260 batting average, 26 doubles, four home runs and 38 runs batted in this season. This is his fifth career stint on the disabled list.
To replace Crosby on the roster, Oakland recalled infielder Gregorio Petit
from Triple-A Sacramento.
