MLB Baseball Trash Talk
A's claim Davis off waivers from GiantsOakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics claimed outfielder Rajai Davis off waivers from the San Francisco Giants Wednesday. Davis had been designated for assignment by the Giants on April 20 after hitting just .056 with four stolen bases in 12 games. The 27-year-old made his major league debut with Pittsburgh in 2006, and is a career .252 hitter with 27 steals in 107 games.
In a corresponding roster move, Oakland designated right-handed pitcher Kirk
Saarloos for assignment. Since having his contract selected from Triple-A
Sacramento by the A's April 14, Saarloos made two appearances for Oakland.
