Astros' Berkman scratchedAtlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Houston Astros first baseman Lance Berkman was scratched from Sunday's series finale with the Atlanta Braves due to an infection in his left eye. The first baseman was scheduled to have the eye examined prior to the game and will be re-evaluated when the team travels to Pittsburgh on Monday.
Darin Erstad started at first for Berkman while Hunter Pence batted third,
taking Berkman's spot in the lineup. Berkman, who on Sunday was unveiled as the starting first baseman for this year's All-Star Game, is hitting .350 with 22 home runs and 69 RBI through 86 games.
