Cubs recall Gallagher, option Hill


St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The Chicago Cubs recalled right-handed pitcher Sean Gallagher from Triple-A Iowa and optioned lefty Rich Hill to Triple-A on Saturday.

The 22-year-old Gallagher is 2-2 with a 3.10 earned run average in five starts for Iowa this season. Gallagher has also struck out 30 batters and only walked nine in 29 innings pitched.

Hill is 1-0 with a 4.12 ERA in five starts with Chicago this season, and has walked 18 batters while only fanning 15 in 19 2/3 innings. This will be the left-hander's first stint at Triple-A since the 2006 campaign.
