Diamondbacks' Byrnes leaves game, headed to DL...againPhoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Arizona Diamondbacks left fielder Eric Byrnes left Monday's 6-3 victory against the Milwaukee Brewers with a strained left hamstring and is headed to the disabled list. The ailment comes a week after Byrnes was recalled from the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring injury. Arizona manager Bob Melvin is not sure how long Byrnes will be shelved.
Byrnes attempted to steal third base in the second inning, but pulled up
gimpy, never reached his destination and was tagged out. He limped into the
clubhouse and Jeff Salazar replaced him in the lineup. Byrnes doubled in his only plate appearance, which was good for just his third hit in 23 at-bats after returning from the disabled list. Arizona catcher Chris Snyder also left the game as he was struck in the groin off a foul tip from Corey Hart in the fourth inning. Snyder went down writhing in pain and was replaced behind the plate by Miguel Montero.
