Diamondbacks send Byrnes back to DLPhoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Diamondbacks placed starting outfielder Eric Byrnes on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a left hamstring injury. The move sends Byrnes back to the bench after a month on the DL with injuries to both hamstrings. Byrnes re-injured the hamstring while trying to steal third in Monday's 6-3 victory over Milwaukee.
Byrnes missed 25 games in his first trip to the disabled list this season. He
is batting just .209 with six home runs and 23 RBI over 52 games this season. The Diamondbacks purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Connor Robertson from Triple-A Tucson to take Byrnes' roster spot.
