Fielder's suspension reducedSan Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Major League Baseball reduced the suspension of Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder from three to two games on Friday. Fielder was originally suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount for his tirade directed at home plate umpire Wally Bell during a 6-4 Milwaukee loss to Houston on August 12.
Fielder, cited for inappropriate and aggressive conduct, went ballistic on
Bell during an argument that started after the slugger was called out on
strikes in the eighth inning. Fielder, who is hitting .283 with 39 homers and 97 RBI, will begin his suspension on Friday in San Francisco.
