Injured A-Rod returns to YankeesChicago, IL (Sports Network) - New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez rejoined his teammates at U.S. Cellular Field Thursday after a three-day absence. The three-time American League MVP was spending time with his wife, Cynthia, who gave birth to the couple's second daughter late Monday night. Rodriguez was also nursing a strained right quadriceps suffered in a game against Baltimore on Sunday. There is no timetable set for Rodriguez's return, but the slugger is optimistic he could serve as the designated hitter in New York's upcoming four-game series in Cleveland. Morgan Ensberg started in place of Rodriguez Thursday night versus the White Sox.
