Mariners activate Bedard from 15-day DLSeattle, WA (Sports Network) - The Seattle Mariners activated left-hander Erik Bedard from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday, allowing him to start against the Oakland Athletics. Bedard, who last pitched on April 8 against the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg, was sidelined with inflammation in his left hip. Seattle acquired Bedard from the Orioles this offseason in a much-ballyhooed move. Bedard went 13-5 with a 3.16 earned run average and 221 strikeouts in 28 starts with Baltimore last season, until his campaign was cut short by a strained oblique. To make room for Bedard, the club option pitcher Roy Corcoran to Tacoma of the Pacific Coast League.
