Rangers' Jennings placed on 15-day DL

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers have placed pitcher Jason Jennings on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 1, with a strained right elbow.

The 29-year old right-hander is 0-5 this season with an 8.56 earned run average in six starts. He left Tuesday's start against Kansas City after being touched for five runs on eight hits in two-plus innings on the hill.

Jennings is coming off an injury-plagued 2007 in which he finished 2-9 with a 6.45 earned run average in 19 games for the Houston Astros, logging only 99 innings due to a pair of long stints on the disabled list. Jennings was sidelined from April 9-May 28 with tendinitis in his right elbow, and his season ended on August 21 when he returned to the DL with a torn tendon in the same elbow.

In a corresponding move, the club recalled Triple-A Oklahoma pitcher A.J. Murray, who is scheduled to start on Saturday.
