Red Sox place OF Moss on DLBoston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox placed outfielder Brandon Moss on the 15-day disabled list Monday, retroactive to May 3. Moss had surgery Saturday night to have his appendix removed. Moss, who is batting .286 with two home runs and three RBI in six games this season, did not play in Boston's 12-4 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday. The Sox have recalled pitcher Craig Hansen from Triple-A Pawtucket to fill the roster spot. This is Hansen's second stint with Boston, after appearing in a game on April 23.
