Red Sox recall BuchholzBoston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox recalled pitcher Clay Buchholz from Triple-A Pawtucket Friday. Buchholz was placed on the 15-day disabled list since May 13 with a broken nail on his right hand. He was sent down to Pawtucket on a rehab assignment on May 25 and has been with the club ever since.
In his first full major-league season, the young right-hander is 2-3 with a
5.53 earned run average. He will get the start as the Sox begin a three-game
series with the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park. The recall fills the roster spot vacated by utilityman Jeff Bailey, who was optioned to Pawtucket after Wednesday's game.
