Reds ink Wilson to minor league deal


Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Reds have signed veteran outfielder/first baseman Craig Wilson to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training.

Wilson appeared in just 24 big league games with Atlanta in 2007, batting .172 in 58 at-bats with a home run and two runs batted in. For his career, the 31- year old Wilson has compiled a .262 batting average with 99 home runs and 292 RBI in 698 games over seven seasons with Atlanta, Pittsburgh and the New York Yankees.

Wilson's career-best year came with the Pirates in 2004, when he batted .264 with 29 home runs and 82 RBI in 155 games.
