Rockies give Corpas four-year deal


Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rockies have signed closer Manny Corpas to a four-year contract, the team announced Thursday. The deal runs through 2011, with club options for 2012 and 2013.

Corpas, 25, was one of the key components of the Rockies' run to the National League championship in 2007, posting a 4-2 record, 19 saves and a 2.08 earned run average in 78 relief appearances. His 2.08 ERA was the lowest mark for a reliever in franchise history.

For his career, Corpas owns a record of 5-4 with a 2.53 ERA in 113 appearances over two seasons with Colorado.
