Royals' Mahay lands on DL

Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Royals have placed left- handed pitcher Ron Mahay on the 15-day disabled list Friday with plantar fasciitis in his left foot.

Mahay is 5-0 with a 2.91 earned run average in 51 games for the Royals this season.

In a corresponding move, the club recalled pitcher Kyle Davies from Triple-A Omaha. Davies is making his second stint with the parent club in 2008. The right-hander went 5-4 with a 4.71 ERA in 14 starts for the Royals after being recalled from Omaha on May 31. He was sent down to the minors on August 15.
