Sheffield tears tendon in fingerDetroit, MI (Sports Network) - Detroit Tigers designated hitter Gary Sheffield reportedly tore a tendon in his left ring finger. According to the Detroit Free Press, Sheffield said he tore the tendon sliding into second base during the Tigers' 4-1 loss to Kansas City on Thursday.
Sheffield, who has one hit and five walks on the season, is doubtful for
Friday's game against the White Sox.
