Twins' P Blackburn leaves game

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - - Minnesota Twins righthander Nick Blackburn left Sunday's start against the New York Yankees after he was hit in the face by a line drive by Bobby Abreu.

In the fifth, Abreu drilled a pitch right back to the mound. Blackburn got his glove up and deflected the ball, but it still hit his face and he left the mound with his nose bleeding.

Blackburn had given up one run on five hits in 4 1/3 innings of work before leaving and he was replaced by righthander Brian Bass.
