Arthur waits and waits...then traded to PortlandNew York, NY (Sports Network) - Darrell Arthur's stock slipped in the first round of the NBA draft, and after he was finally taken 27th by New Orleans, he was shipped to the Portland Trail Blazers for cash considerations. A forward of the national champion Kansas Jayhawks, Arthur was the final player to leave the green room Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. He even received applause from NBA commissioner David Stern after being picked.
Many teams reportedly passed on Arthur due to a kidney issue, this after he
ranked first on the team in blocks (53) and second in scoring (12.6 ppg) in
2007-08.
