Bucks' Yi out for rest of the seasonIndianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Milwaukee Bucks forward Yi Jianlian will miss the final eight games of the season with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee, the team announced Friday. The forward injured his knee early in the first half of Wednesday's 110-109 victory over the Washington Wizards.
For the season, the seven-foot rookie from China is averaging 8.6 points and
5.2 rebounds in 25.0 minutes per game. Yi was named Eastern Conference Rookie
of the Month for December when he averaged 12.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.2
assists and 1.1 blocked shots in 16 games. After evaluating the MRI results, initial reports indicate the 20-year old will be able to participate for China in this summer's Olympics, but will need two-to-three weeks of rehabilitation before getting back on the court.
