Heat acquire Chalmers from Minnesota in draft night tradeNew York, NY (Sports Network) - The Miami Heat acquired the draft rights to Kansas guard Mario Chalmers, the 2008 NBA Draft's 34th overall pick, from Minnesota in exchange for a pair of future second-round selections and cash considerations. The shooting guard is best known for his game-winning three-pointer for the Jayhawks in the 2008 NCAA championship game against Memphis. The prolific shooter with play with Dwyane Wade in the Heat backcourt.
Minnesota took Southern California combo guard O.J. Mayo with the fourth
overall pick in the draft then took Nikola Pekovic with the 31st overall
selection.
