Lakers center Bynum hurts kneeLos Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum sprained his left knee during a 100-99 win over Memphis Sunday night. Bynum was helped off the court with a sprained left knee early in the third quarter. He was hurt after coming down on teammate Lamar Odom's foot while going for a rebound. X-rays taken were negative. Bynum, who totaled 10 points and nine boards before leaving the game, will have an MRI on Monday.
The Lakers, who have won six in a row, can't afford to lose Bynum at this
stage of the season. The 20-year-old came into Sunday averaging 13.2 points
and 10.2 rebounds. "I think I'll be all right," said Bynum, whose leg was strapped down by a walking cast after the game. "I thought it was worse when I watched the replay. Nothing popped. I can put weight on it, so that's a good sign. I put ice on it and it felt better. They'll tell me more after my MRI tomorrow."
