Mavs re-sign Devean GeorgeDallas, TX (Sports Network) - The Dallas Mavericks re-signed veteran swingman Devean George on Monday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, but the Dallas Morning News reported last week that George agreed to a two-year pact worth about $4 million.
"Getting Devean back in a Mavs uniform has been a goal of ours all summer,"
said Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle. "His experience and ability to run the
floor and play and defend multiple positions will be a great asset for us this
season." George, who turns 31 on August 29, averaged 3.7 points and 2.6 rebounds in 53 games last season for Dallas. The 23rd overall pick of the Lakers in the 1999 NBA draft, George won three titles in seven campaigns with Los Angeles before coming to Dallas prior to the start of the 2006-2007 season.
