Sonics' Watson breaks thumbSeattle, WA (Sports Network) - Seattle SuperSonics point guard Earl Watson fractured his right thumb and will have surgery Thursday in Los Angeles. The 29-year-old Watson averaged 10.7 points and 6.8 assists, both career highs last season. During his seven-year NBA career, Watson has averaged 7.4 points and 4.5 assists in 529 games. The Sonics expect a recovery period of three to four months.
