Aggies cruise past Duke


Oklahoma City, OK (Sports Network) - Patrice Reado scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the second-seeded Texas A&M Aggies to a 77-63 victory over the third-seeded Duke Blue Devils in the NCAA Tournament's Oklahoma City Regional semifinals.

Takia Starks added 15 points for Texas A&M (29-7), while Morenike Atunrase contributed 13 points and seven boards. A'Quonesia Franklin also had a strong performance, netting 13 points to go along with six assists and five rebounds. With the victory the Aggies will take the floor against either Tennessee or Notre Dame and will play for the right to participate to the Final Four in Tampa.

Chante Black posted a double-double for Duke (25-10), scoring 17 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Abby Waner added 15 points and seven boards, while Wanisha Smith and Keturah Jackson chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Aggies went into the break with a 29-25 lead, despite shooting 35.3 percent from the field in the first half.

Texas A&M put forth a much more efficient effort in the second stanza, shooting 46.4 percent from the floor, while also connecting on 19-of-27 free throw attempts, en route to the 14-point win.

The Aggies committed just 11 turnovers in the contest, while Duke committed 19 miscues.
