Commodores collapse against MarylandSpokane, WA (Sports Network) - Crystal Langhorne scored a game-high 28 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Maryland Terrapins defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores, 80-66, in the Spokane Regional Semifinals of the NCAA Tournament at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Langhorne, who made 12-of-18 shots from the field for the Terps (33-3), also cleared a game-high nine rebounds as well. Marissa Coleman contributed 19 points, Marah Strickland 13 and Laura Harper 11 points for a top-seeded Maryland team that will face the winner of the Pittsburgh/Stanford meeting on Monday night in the regional final. The fourth-seeded Commodores (25-9) were paced by Christina Wirth who dropped in 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds, followed by Jessica Mooney and Merideth Marsh with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Vandy made just 1-of-8 shots from the field to start the contest, allowing Maryland to race out to an 11-2 advantage and eventually a 44-29 edge at the break. In the second half the Commodores tried to battle back from behind the three- point line, but the squad knocked down a mere 1-of-11 out on the perimeter, allowing Maryland to cruise to the 14-point win. The Terrapins scored the first points of the night and never looked back, limiting Vandy to just 5-of-22 shooting beyond the arc along the way.
