Hansbrough to transfer from Mississippi State

Starkville, MS (Sports Network) - Mississippi State guard Ben Hansbrough will transfer from the school following the completion of his spring semester, the team's head coach announced Monday.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound sophomore was the Bulldogs' fourth-leading scorer this past season with a 10.5 point average in 28 games, as Mississippi State finished 23-11 and fell in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to Memphis.

"Ben is a good kid and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors," said head coach Rick Stansbury.

Hansbrough, the younger brother of North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough, led the team with 62 three-point field goals and a 78.9 free-throw percentage while averaging 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.
