Gordon, who led the Big Ten in scoring, is the top freshman scorer in IU history, averaging 20.9 points this season. He also set a conference record for total points by a freshman with 669.

The 6-foot-4 guard was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and a unanimous first- team All-Big Ten selection. Gordon was also a finalist for the Wooden and Naismith Awards.

"I'm committed as the Indiana coach to help him anyway I can," said new IU head coach Tom Crean. "Even though he is leaving early, there is no reason not to graduate down the road."

The Hoosiers finished the season 25-8, but fell to Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
