Kansas guard Stewart injures knee in Final Four practiceSan Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Kansas reserve guard Rodrick Stewart reportedly fractured his right knee cap Friday during the Jayhawks' open practice at the Alamodome, site of Saturday's Final Four matchups. Stewart, a 6-foot-3 senior from Seattle, was taken off the floor after landing hard on the knee when he attempted a dunk in front of KU fans at the practice session, which was open to the public. According to the Kansas City Star, Stewart's knee was in a brace as he left the floor, and he will undergo surgery when the team returns to its Lawrence, Kansas campus. Having started eight games for the 35-3 Jayhawks this season, Stewart scored 2.8 points and averaged 11.6 minutes per game. Kansas, the top seed out of the Midwest region, defeated Portland State, UNLV, Villanova and Davidson en route to its Final Four matchup with top-ranked and only twice-beaten North Carolina, scheduled for 8:47 p.m. (et) Saturday at the Alamodome.
