NJIT names Engles new hoops coachNewark, NJ (Sports Network) - New Jersey Institute of Technology introduced Jim Engles as its new men's basketball coach on Thursday, replacing Jim Casciano, who resigned in February. Engles, who was the lead assistant coach at Columbia, agreed to a five-year contract. He has held coaching positions at Wagner College and Rider. Engles will be charged with reviving a program that lost all 29 of its games this past season. The Highlanders currently have a 33-game losing streak that dates back to the end of the 2006-07 season, and are 5-53 since moving to the Division I level.
