No. 23 Blue Demons quiet Red Storm in OTChicago, IL (Sports Network) - Allie Quigley drained 24 points while hauling in nine rebounds to lead the No. 23 DePaul Blue Demons past the St. John's Red Storm, 91-80, in overtime. China Threatt scored 16 points for DePaul (13-3, 2-1 Big East), which out- scored the Storm 14-3 in the lopsided overtime period. Caprice Smith contributed 14 points, and Natasha Williams added 11 points and eight boards, as the Blue Demons have earned victories in back-to-back contests. Deirdre Naughton chipped in 10 points, giving DePaul five scorers in double-figures. The Blue Demons improved to 6-2 at home with the win.
Kelly McManmon tallied 19 points for St. John's (10-6, 1-2), which has dropped
two of its last three games. Sky Lindsay scored 17 in the loss, as the Red
Storm slipped to 1-2 in the series against the Blue Demons. Kia Wright
finished with 16 points while dishing out seven dimes, and Monique McLean came
up with 11 points in the loss.
