Packer leads Ohio State past Purdue


Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Marscilla Packer netted 18 points to lead 20th-ranked Ohio State past Purdue, 72-56, at Value City Arena.

Five Ohio State players ended in double-digits including Jantel Lavender, who contributed 13 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Tamarah Riley added 12 points and six boards for the Buckeyes (19-6, 10-4 Big Ten).

FahKara Malone paced her club with 17 points and Samantha Woods had 13 for Purdue (14-12, 10-5).

Ohio State led by just three at the break, but shot a scorching 58.3 percent from the floor in the second half. Packer scored 16 of her 18 points in the second stanza.
