Steele's three-pointer at buzzer steals win for GW

Auburn, AL (Sports Network) - Lisa Steele drilled a three-pointer with one second remaining in regulation to lift No. 20 George Washington to a thrilling 68-66 win over 18th-ranked Auburn.

Sarah-Jo Lawrence scored 18 points and Kimberly Beck netted 16 points for the Lady Colonials (11-3), who have won six straight after a two-game skid. Jessica Adair added 15 points in the win.

Alli Smalley scored 17 points for the Tigers (12-3), who have dropped two straight. DeWanna Bonner tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds while Sherell Hobbs added 12 points in the loss.

The Lady Colonials led by three, 33-30, at the start of the second half and the action remained tight throughout the contest. In the waning moments, Steele connected for her only points of the night, but it was the most important bucket of the contest as the visitors escaped with the last-second victory.
