Swanier, Moore lead the way as UConn trounces Providence


Storrs, CT (Sports Network) - Ketia Swanier scored a game-high 17 points and freshman Maya Moore added 16 as top-ranked Connecticut dismantled Providence, 80-54, at Gampel Pavilion.

Moore's double-figure scoring streak is now at 21 games for the Huskies (21-0, 8-0 Big East). Tina Charles also had a huge night, pouring in 15 points to go along with 11 rebounds.

Brittany Dorsey scored 14 points and Kendria Holmes added 13 and six assists for the Friars (11-10, 1-7), who have dropped five straight and seven of their last eight games overall.

The Huskies now lead the all-time series, 35-21, and have earned victories in each of the last 23 meetings between the schools.
