Tar Heels hammer Arkansas, head to Sweet 16Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - Wayne Ellington scored 20 points, and North Carolina, the NCAA Tournament's top overall seed, rolled into the Sweet 16 with a 108-77 rout of Arkansas. Tyler Hansbrough had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Tar Heels (34-2), who move on to face fourth-seeded Washington State in an Eastern Regional semifinal in Charlotte on Thursday. Deon Thompson scored 16 points, and Ty Lawson had 19 points for UNC, which won its 13th straight.

-- scored 19 points for ninth-seeded Arkansas (23-12). Darian Townes had 15
points and nine rebounds, and Patrick Beverley scored 14 points for Arkansas. Just like in their opening-round destruction of Mount St. Mary's the ACC regular season and tournament champions opened Sunday's game with a big run and never looked back. The Tar Heels registered the second-most points in NCAA Tournament history in their 113-74 win on Friday, and flirted with that number on Sunday.
