Texas rolls past Stanford to reach Elite EightHouston, TX (Sports Network) - D.J. Augustin recorded 21 points, five rebounds and seven assists as Texas used a late surge to top Stanford and roll into the Elite Eight with an 82-62 victory in the South Region semifinals of the NCAA Tournament. Damion James had 18 points for the Longhorns (31-6), who advance to face the winner of Michigan State-Memphis on Sunday. A.J. Abrams added 12 points and Connor Atchley picked up 10.
Brook Lopez posted a game-high 26 points for the Cardinal (28-8), who shot
just under 34 percent from the floor. Landry Fields was the only other starter
in double figures with 11 points. Mitch Johnson picked up six points and
dished out a game-best eight assists in defeat.
