Tigers maul Spartans, advance to third straight Elite EightHouston, TX (Sports Network) - Derrick Rose posted a career-high 27 points as Memphis used an early barrage to best Michigan State, 92-74, in the South region semifinals of the NCAA Tournament. Chris Douglas-Roberts added 25 points aided by 11-of-12 shooting from the free-throw line for the top-seeded Tigers (36-1), who face Texas in the South Region final on Sunday.
Antonio Anderson had 10 points and Robert Dozier pulled down a game-high 10
rebounds for Memphis, which reached the Elite Eight for the third consecutive
season. Goran Suton posted 23 points with nine boards and Chris Allen had 20 points for the Spartans (27-9). Kalin Lucas scored 11 and dished out four assists but senior Drew Neitzel was held to six points, coming on a pair of three-pointers late in the contest, in his final collegiate outing.
