UAB extends Davis through 2013

Birmingham, AL (Sports Network) - The University of Alabama at Birmingham extended head coach Mike Davis' contract two years on Thursday.

A $25,000 raise comes along with the extension, which lasts through the 2012-13 season. Davis' base salary is now $625,000 annually.

Last season, the Blazers matched their biggest single-season turnaround in school history, improving on their 15-win campaign in 2006-07 with a 23-11 record.

The 23 victories were the third-most in the program's 29-year history.
