Texas All-Stars rout Nation All-StarsEl Paso, TX (Sports Network) - Adam Tafralis threw a touchdown pass as the Texas All-Stars routed the Nation All-Stars, 41-14, in the second annual Texas versus the Nation All-Star bowl game. Tafralis finished the game 10-for-19 with 136 yards while Adrian Smith added 42 rushing yards and a score for the Texas All-Stars, which avenged last year's 24-20 loss at the hands of the Nation All-Stars. The Nation got its only scores on a kickoff return from Darrell Blackman and a punt return from Pierre Garcon. After a scoreless first quarter, Texas grabbed the lead on a 28-yard touchdown pass from Tafralis to Danny Amendola with 13:17 left in the second, but the Nation tied the game on the ensuing kickoff as Blackman returned the ball 97 yards for the score. Smith, though, gave Texas a 14-7 lead heading into the locker room with a four-yard run with 1:05 left in the first half. Texas made it a 21-7 game when Erick Jackson recovered a fumble and took it into the end zone from 50 yards out and a pair of field goals from Garrett Hartley, a 45-yarder and a 26-yarder, gave the team a 27-7 lead heading into the final 15 minutes. Alley Broussard's two-yard run and a one-yard run from Caleb Hanie in the fourth quarter staked Texas to a 41-7 lead and Garcon's 41-yard punt return with 2:08 to play capped the scoring in the game. Game Notes Xavier Omon had 91 yards on nine carries for Texas...Patrick Tharp went 10- for-21 with 94 yards and two interceptions for the Nation All-Stars.
