Troy QB Hampton hurts legBoca Raton, FL (Sports Network) - Troy quarterback Jamie Hampton suffered what appeared to be a devastating left leg injury during Tuesday's 30-17 win over Florida Atlantic. Hampton was injured in the final minute of the third quarter on a run up the middle. His knee buckled under a host of defenders. and the sophomore had to be helped off the field.
Going into the game, Hampton had completed 63.4 percent of his throws for the
season with nine touchdowns against seven interceptions. He left Tuesday's
contest after completing 10-of-21 passes for 116 yards with an interception,
while rushing 16 times for 61 yards and a pair of TDs. Sophomore Tanner Jones took over at QB after Hampton's departure with the Trojans already ahead, 27-10.
