Bears ink RB Kevin JonesLake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears have signed running back Kevin Jones to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Jones spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Detroit Lions and
was released in March after leading the club with 581 rushing yards and eight
touchdowns in 2007. His season ended a week early because of a knee injury. The Virginia Tech product rushed for 3,067 yards and 24 touchdowns with a 4.0 yard per carry average in his four seasons. He also caught 141 passes for 1,006 yards with three scores. Jones was selected by the Lions with the 30th overall pick of the 2004 NFL Draft and he went on to finish fifth in the NFC with 1,133 rushing yards in his rookie season.
