Bengals sign OL AndrewsCincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday signed offensive lineman Stacy Andrews to a one-year, $7.5 million contract. The Bengals had placed the franchise tag on Andrews last month.
The contract is the average salary of the NFL's top five paid offensive
linemen for the 2007 season. "We're happy Stacy is signed in advance of our offseason work," said Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis. "This does not preclude our continuing to talk to Stacy and his representatives about reaching a long-term agreement." Last season, Andrews' fourth year in the league, the 342-pounder played in every game and started 14. Last season, Cincinnati allowed just 17 sacks, a franchise record.
