Bills sign DT JeffersonOrchard Park, NY (Sports Network) - The Buffalo Bills have officially signed defensive tackle Jason Jefferson to a one-year contract. Jefferson, a fourth-year veteran, was a restricted free agent and could have fielded offers from other clubs, but the Bills had the right of first refusal. The Wisconsin product registered a career-high 20 tackles in 11 games for the Bills in 2007.
Drafted in the sixth round by the Saints in 2005, Jefferson signed with the
Bills in October of that year after a stint on the Philadelphia Eagles'
practice squad. The Bills also announced the signings of cornerback Dustin Fox and wide receiver Scott Mayle -- two reserves who spent most of the 2007 season on the practice squad -- to their exclusive rights tenders.
