Brady says he'll be ready for Super Bowl

Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - New England quarterback Tom Brady says his sprained right ankle is not an issue and the record-setting QB will be ready to go on February 3, when the undefeated Patriots take on the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII.

Brady, who has not practiced this past week, said he benefited from simply observing practice. The two-time Super Bowl MVP said he hurt the ankle after he was sacked early in the third quarter of the AFC Championship game against the Chargers.

"It's doing good," Brady said of the injury to a pair of Boston newspapers. "It's feeling good. I'll be ready to go. It's been a good week. The team has practiced hard. I haven't practiced, but I've watched them practice hard."

Earlier in the day, Brady and the Patriots appeared at a snowy Gillette Stadium rally before leaving for Arizona.

Brady had been noticeably absent during media availability at Pats camp this week, after photos earlier in the week showed the quarterback with a walking boot on his right foot. There have been reports that Brady has a mild ankle sprain.

This will mark New England's fourth trip to the big game in the past seven seasons. The Patriots are bidding to become the second team in NFL history to finish a regular season and playoff season without a loss, joining the 1972 Miami Dolphins, who were 17-0.
