Cowboys' Ellis headed to Pro Bowl

Irving, TX (Sports Network) - Dallas Cowboys linebacker Greg Ellis has been named to the NFC Pro Bowl roster as an injury replacement for Chicago's Lance Briggs.

Ellis, who will appear in his first Pro Bowl game, started the last 11 contests for the Cowboys this season after suffering a ruptured Achilles' tendon at Arizona the previous November. That caused him to miss all of training camp and the first three regular season games.

Ellis ended the year with a career-best 12.5 sacks, which was second on the Cowboys.

Dallas now has an NFL-record 13 players headed to the Pro Bowl.
