Dolphins edge SaintsNew Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Chad Henne's eight-yard touchdown pass to Sean Ryan late in the second quarter was the difference, as the Miami Dolphins clipped the New Orleans Saints, 14-10, in the exhibition finale for both clubs. Henne completed 16-of-20 passes for 137 yards and threw an interception. Chad Pennington made a cameo for the Dolphins (3-1), connecting on 2-of-4 pass attempts for 27 yards. Ronnie Brown rushed for 47 yards on 12 carries, including a touchdown, and Ricky Williams ran the ball twice for only two yards.
Mark Brunell threw for only 39 yards on 6-of-9 passing and one touchdown,
while Deuce McAllister amassed 30 yards on the ground for New Orleans (2-2). Martin Gramatica put New Orleans on the board in the first quarter with a 40- yard field goal, then Brunell's two-yard touchdown pass to Lance Moore in the early stages of the second stanza gave the home team a 10-0 lead. Miami, though, trimmed the deficit on Brown's one-yard touchdown run with 4:09 to go in the frame, and pulled ahead when Henne hooked up with Ryan in the waning moments of the first half. The Dolphins will open their 2008 campaign with a home date against Brett Favre and the Jets on September 7, while the Saints begin by hosting the division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers the same day.
