Dunn deal: Warrick returns to Bucs

Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continued to reorganize their roster on Monday with the acquisition of running back Warrick Dunn.

The 33-year-old Dunn returns to the team he spent the first five years of his NFL career, rushing twice for over 1,000 yards with Tampa Bay in 1998 and 2000. He had spent his last six seasons with the Falcons.

A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Dunn had 227 carries for 720 yards and four touchdowns last season, and also caught 37 passes for 238 yards. He surpassed the 10,000 yard mark in career rushing last season, becoming the 22nd player in NFL history to accomplish the feat.

He ranks third on Atlanta's all-time rushing list with 5,979 yards, trailing just Gerald Riggs (6,631) and William Andrews (5,986). Dunn was released by the Falcons last Monday. He helped the Falcons lead the league in rushing for three straight years from 2004-06. He reached the 1,000-yard plateau each season, including a career-best 1,416 yards on 280 carries in 2005.

Earlier in the day, the Bucs signed tight end Ben Troupe, formerly of the Tennessee Titans, and also inked wideout Antonio Bryant.
